House Plants

July 31st, 2015 8 PM: The House Plant house show began with the soothing and rich vibrations of the steel pan. Two members of the Seattle Women's Steel Pan Project, Anna Mines and Oriana Estrada, showcased a set of two traditional songs and Bob Marley's "Is This Love?" to the warm and receptive house audience.

The night rolled on with performances from Re:percussion Duo with David Solomon on vibes and Andrew Angell on glockenspiel, followed by Carmen Rothwell and Nick Rogstad in an untitled folk duo playing delightfully quirky, humorous originals. Next, my newly formed trio, BIRCH with Anna Mines and David Solomon debuted three songs, one of which "Piece of Mind" is available to watch above. To close the night, The Fraidies lead singer, Jon Fickes graced us all with a Dylan-esque solo set, just a boy and his guitar.
